ASIA MINOR, Ionia (?). Uncertain mint. Circa mid 5th century BC. Obol (Silver, 9mm, 0.60 g 10). Forepart of boar to left. Rev. Head of roaring lion to right. BMC -. SNG Copenhagen -. SNG von Aulock -. Very rare. Nearly extremely fine.
An interesting coin: well struck but of rather crude style, indicating a contemporary imitation. Its prototype is hard to identify, but as a wild guess one might suspect a Kyzikos Obol.
