Julius Caesar, Denarius (Silver, 19mm, 3.68 g 4), military mint traveling with Caesar in Spain, late 46-early 45 BC. Diademed head of Venus to right, with Cupid over her shoulder. Rev. CAESAR Trophy of Gallic arms, composed of a helmet, cuirass, oval shield and a carnyx; at base, two seated captive: on the left a female in attitude of dejection and, on the right, bearded male with his hands bound behind his back.
