Mark Antony, with Octavia, Cistophorus (Silver, 27mm, 11.84 g 1), Ephesus (?), 39 BC. M·ANTONIVS·IMP ·COS· DESIG·ITER ET·TERT Conjoined heads right of Mark Antony, wreathed, and Octavia, to right. Rev. III·VIR – R·P·C· Dionysus, holding cantharus and thyrsus, standing left on cista mystica, flanked by interlaced serpents with heads erect. Banti & Simonetti 21 (this coin). RPC 2202. Sydenham 1198. A remarkably well-preserved example with a fine pedigree. Nicely toned and attractive. Good very fine.
