LUCANIA, Velia. Circa 280 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 19mm, 7.41 g 9). Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasus; above visor, A; behind neck, IE in shallow incuse square. Rev. [ΥEΛHTΩN] Lion attacking stag to left. HN III 1318. Williams 564 (same dies). Very attractively toned and very nicely centered on a tight flan. About extremely fine.
