Ex Rauch, Auktion 94, 14.4. 2014, Nr. 418.
Casbonne (Conquête perse et phénomène monétaire: l'exemple cilicien, in: ders. [Hrsg.], Mecanismes et innovations monétaires dans l'Anatolie achéménide. Numismatique et histoire. Actes de la Table Ronde Internationale d'Istanbul, 22-23 mai 1997, Paris 2000, 21-91, 47 f.) suggested that the double-winged figure on the obverse can be identified as Šamaš, a local Cilician sun god. He appears on both sides of the main entrance of the acropolis of Karatepe. There Šamaš carries a winged sun disk above his head. We meet also deities, male or female, in glyptic arts in the Archaic period (cf. Boardman, Greek Gems and Fingerrings, 1970, 286/287).
