Good Very Fine. Very Rare.
Germanic imitative issues in the name of Marcian are very rare as upon becoming Emperor, he refused to continue the tribute to Atilla the Hun (AD 434–453), who had been accustomed to receiving enormous amounts from Theodosius II and Valentinian III. These tribute payments had been paid to ensure no attacks would be forthcoming from Atilla's grand alliance of Germanic tribes on the border of the Eastern Empire.
