MESSENIA, Asine. Septimius Severus. AD 193-211. Æ Assarion (23mm, 4.45 g, 6h). Struck circa AD 198-205. Laureate head right / Poseidon standing left, holding dolphin and trident. BCD Peloponnesos 774.2; BCD Peloponnesos II 2810; BMC –; SNG Copenhagen –; NCP –. Fine, green patina, light scratch on obverse. Rare and better than the two BCD specimens.
