Danubian limes. Cast lead mystic plaque. Dacia and Moesia, 3rd-4th century AD. Obv. Circular plaque with figural design in several scenes within elaborate frame. Helen facing between the two busts of Selene and Helios surmounted by two coiled serpents and, just below, the Dioscuri on horseback (the Danubian Horsemen); two prone figures; between them, fish on large tripod. Below, amphora between cock and lion; under the ground line, three crescents upside down. Rev. Plain. PB. mm. 73.00 73 mm. Two minor flan cracks on the edge. Very rare in this exceptional condition.
