Trajan (AD 98-117), AE Sestertius, Rome, c.112-114, laureate bust right with aegis on right shoulder, drapery on left, imp caes nerva traiano avg ger dac pm trp cos vi pp, rev. spqr optimo p[rinci]pi basilica vlpia sc, façade of the Basilica Ulpia - large rectangular building with three projecting epistyla, the central one surmounted by facing quadriga between two statues, the separate flanking epistyla surmounted by horsemen, all on two-stepped podium (cf. RIC 617 and 618; cf. BMC 982 and 983; cf. Woytek, Die Reichsprägung Des Kaisers Traianus, 464c), absolutely natural, and intact, pale green patina, virtually extremely fine and very rare.
