Qajar Dynasty, Nasir al-Din (1848-96), commemorative Toman (10-Kran), 47.44g, Tehran, AH1313, struck to mark the 50th anniversary of Nasir's reign, uniformed bust three quarter to left in tall shako within circular legend, rev. inscription within a crowned wreath (KM.919), good very fine.
Nasr ud-Din was assassinated in 1896, by a fanatical Babi (predecessor of the now-pacifistic Baha'i faith), so he did not survive to see his Golden Jubilee, celebrated in 1898.
