Edward the Confessor (1042-66), Penny, 1.40g, Pyramids type, Chester, Alcsige, bust right, bearded and crowned, in front a sceptre, rev. +ALXXI ON LEGECE, short cross voided; in each angle, a pyramid from the inner circle and terminating in a pellet (N831; S1184), the portrait a little blundered, toned, very fine.
