Stephen (1135-54), Penny, 1.29g, Cross and Piles type, (BMC VI), Castle Rising, Rodbert, bust three-quarters left, crowned and holding a sceptre in right hand, rev. [ ]RT:ON:RIS, cross fleury with a pile surmounted by a trefoil of annulets in each angle (N879; S1281), large split almost cutting the coin in two but stable, good detail where struck up, very fine, very rare.
