New Kingdom. 18th Dynasty. Thutmose III (1479-1425 BC). Blue glazed steatite scarab (20x15mm). Face depicts the cartouche of Thutmose III, sixth pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty, flanked by two maat ("truth") symbols and surmounted by winged scarab or "protective vulture." Chipped in areas. Pierced. Cf. Rowe 488.
