Terra cotta Telaf Mother Goddess. Late Halaf Period, late 5th millenium BC. Typical Tel Halaf Mother Goddess, seated, knees drawn up, her arms support pendulous breasts. The painted stripes on arms and breasts may represent tattoos. Height: 9.8cm. Broken and restored (as is normal for these).
