Hematite cylinder seal. Syrian, Mitanni, circa 14th-13th centuries BC. A winged celestial being stands facing, flanked by a bird and lioness to one side, an ibex and lion on the other. Height: 20mm. A few tiny chips, otherwise a well-preserved and attractive specimen.
