New Kingdom. 18th Dynasty. Hatshepsut (1479-1458 BC). Steatite scarab with traces of green glaze (18x12mm). Face depicts the name of Hatshepsut, "foremost of noble ladies," she was the fifth pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty and the first woman in this role. Pierced. Cf. NFA 131.
