L&M-94; K-615; KM-Pn99; WS-0138; Wenchao-pg. 564#909 (rarity two stars); Shanghai Museum-Mr. Shi Jiagan's collection-pg. 130#604. Designed by the British Royal mint in England. Dies prepared by Langford Jones in accordance with the requested design of the Chinese Legation in London. An especially notable pattern design depicting turbulent seas on the reverse, with a stunning portrait of Sun Yat-sen gracing the obverse. Instantly recognizable as a specimen striking that was meant to impress all who inspected it. Central burst of amber toning seen on the portrait and light clear amber toning evenly coating the reverse. Bountiful underlying luster and free of major marks or abrasions.
