Chinese inscriptions in the four corners while a Manchu inscription runs vertically down the middle between the two dragons. Some enamel chipping amongst the aspects of the design, overall wholesome and attractive.
The Order of the Double Dragon was China's first Western-style order, champion by Sir Robert Hart, the British Inspector General of Chinese Imperial Customs. The First and Second Class were only doled out to officials who "made exceptional contributions" and were conferred by the Emperor. Historically significant and sure to draw considerable interest.
NEARLY EXTREMELY FINE.
