L&M-985 var.; K-Mule Obv. plate 194 #2, Rev. plate 194 #1. VERY RARE. Struck in bronze. Appears to be a Mule of the Second Class obverse with the reverse for the First Class. In November of 1906, the Qing government reorganized and created a new combined department of Agriculture, Industry, and Commercial affairs. Thus, these medals were most likely issued starting in 1907. Two side view dragons with flaming pearl between surrounded by clouds, waves below. Class designation below pearl. Reverse shows Manchu script in legend to left, Chinese to right. Two Chinese characters in center at top and bottom. Two Manchu characters at left and right in center. The only certified example of this type. Lovely and distinct toning with multi-color iridescence. PCGS MS-64 RB Secure Holder.
