CHINA. Chiang Kai Shek Copper Medallic Pattern 10 Cash, ND (1940). NGC AU Details--Surface Hairlines.
21.4 mm. CCC-707. RARE. Three-quarters facing portrait of the Chairman of the Nationalist Government of China dressed in military uniform. Denomination on reverse. Struck at a time when Chiang Kai Shek was nominally aligned with the Chinese Communist Party in their shared efforts to drive out the Japanese occupation which had occurred in 1937. Features a depiction of a Warring States Period bronze Flat Handle Arch Foot Spade money on the reverse. A lightly wiped piece with generous amounts of original mint red and traces of darker patina lending contrast to the design. Sharp rims and generally mark free fields, a touch of porosity on the general's cheek mentioned for accuracy, but requiring an loupe to detect. A handsome and impressive example of this very seldom offered medal, which is missing from nearly all collections of related material. NGC AU Details--Surface Hairlines.

Estimate: $6000.00- $8000.00
