FRENCH INDO-CHINA. Banque de L'Indo-Chine. 20 Piastres, 1905-07. P-36. PMG Very Fine 30 Net. Repaired, Pinholes.
Saigon. This note is one of an important quartet of early French Indo-China pieces we are offering and has grade we have never before seen for the catalog number. The note borders on an Extremely Fine state with light even circulation and striking detail remaining throughout. Close inspection reveals nicely embossed overprints and just a speck of rust at the staple hole at right. The last we handled was a PMG Very Fine 30 Net graded piece with significantly more dramatic problem areas, that note realized $5,434 in our January 2015 NYINC sale. This far more attractive note should easily eclipse that realization. PMG Very Fine 30 Net. Repaired, Pinholes.
