Ottoman, 'Abd al-Hamid II b. 'Abd al-Majid (1293-1327h), gold ziynet 250 qurush, Qustantaniyya 1293h, ry 31, wt. 17.49gms. (KM 742), very slight traces of mounting at 12 o'clock otherwise brilliant good extremely fine, rare. After a long gap between the reigns of Mahmud II and the later years of 'Abd al-Hamid II, the mint resumed production of the ziynet coinage in 500, 250, 100, 50 and 25 qurush denominations. Of these the 250 is probably the scarcest and is almost never found without traces of mounting. (£400 - 450)
