SICILY. Syracuse. Time of Dionysius I (405-395 BC). AV 50 litrae (11mm, 2.89 gm, 8h). Struck ca. 405-400 BC. ΣYPA-K, youthful bare head of the river-god Anapos left, barley corn right / Horse rearing right on doubled exergual band, star above. Bérend 2 (O1/R2). HGC 2, 1281. SNG ANS 341. Rare and of lovely style. Very light obverse die rust, otherwise a sweet and gem-like gold piece. NGC MS 5/5 - 5/5
