Otho (AD 69). AR denarius (20mm, 3.42 gm, 6h). Rome, 9 March-mid April AD 69. IMP OTHO CAES-AR AVG TR P, bare, bewigged head of Otho right / PONT MAX, Ceres standing left, holding two grain ears and cornucopia. Cf. RIC 20 (aureus). CBN 25. RSC 11. Excellent portrait, with dray-iridescent toning and some luster in fields. Unobtrusive diagonal obverse scratch across bust and field. NGC XF 5/5 - 3/5, marks.
