Choice for the designation with lustrous fields, limited actual wear and the flaws mentioned on the insert not too obtrusive with the edge design still evident. An elusive and important type, with high recent records for similarly impaired coins thus very desirable despite the defects noted on the insert. The cataloguer notes an obviously lesser example, rounded off and polished sold for $3,250 in 2010 (Baldwin's, Markov & MM 1/2010, lot 651) and the XF ex jewelry RLM specimen hammered at $8,500 (Heritage Auctions, 4/2013 lot 23238).
