Central American Republic 1/2 Real 1848 CR-JB MS66 NGC, San Jose mint, KM20a. A stunning example of this charming small type featuring the beautiful design of the Central American Republic. Gem Uncirculated with fully prooflike surfaces and a superbly defined strike. Essentially unimprovable for this type as a finer specimen would be hard to imagine. The recently auctioned ex-Lissner specimen was quite impressively preserved at MS64 NGC and hammered at $1,700. The present, obviously superior example should deserve a nice premium over that figure.
