Republic Type VII countermark 1/2 Real ND (1849-1857) XF45 NGC, San Jose mint, KM69. Mislabeled as Type VI countermark on the insert. Type VII Lion countermark over a Costa Rica provisional 1/2 Real 1842 MM (KM32). A rare host coin for this counterstamped issue, conditionally very rare and most desirable in this pleasant quality with nearly all examined examples of this host-coin variety holed (as the plate in Murillo).
