Republic gold 1/2 Onza 1850-JB AU58 NGC, San Jose mint, KM100. Nearly as-struck in terms of surface quality, however the central motifs, as was often the case with this type, show considerable bluntness which obscures much of the native's finer details as well as a portion of the corresponding Costa Rican coat of arms. Actually very similar, albeit slightly better struck, than the NGC-graded MS64 that we recently sold (Heritage 1/2016 - Lot 31163) for $7,343.75.
