Republic late 19th Century Trial Strikes Pair, San Jose mint, Km-unl. Pair of trial strikes in bronze planchets from the reverse of the 1876 gold 1 Peso (die by German W. Kullrich). No examples of the gold Peso 1876-GW are currently known yet this interesting pair proves the obverse die was finished. Whether the "10. C." inscription found on both trial strikes represents 10 Centavos is a matter of conjecture. An intriguing pair, obviously rare.From the Pura Vida Collection, Part II
