Haile Selassie gold Coronation Medal EE1923 (1930) MS64 NGC, Addis Ababa mint, Gill-S14, Bruce-11, plain edge, 7.5g. Obv. Crowned bust left; Rev. Throne of Solomon between two angels, Lion of Judah in front. rightening, the details here are excellent and the fields mostly unmarked save for hairlines. A die cud at the upper rim on the reverse is noted. These medals commemorate the coronation of Haile Salassie but are believed to have been minted later than the date would indicate. This variety lacks the designer's name. Boldly struck, with full mint brilliance, greenish-gold patina, and surfaces displaying only minor marks. Ex. Lawrence Adams Collection.
