Attractive cabinet toning, with a small degree of luster peeking through. A pleasing example of the future emperor of Russia, who served as Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp before succeeding to the Russian throne. His reign over the latter was exceedingly unpopular, and fell victim to an assassination, quite possibly plotted by his wife, Catherine II the Great.Ex. World-Wide Coins of California [James F.
