Charles I 1/2 Crown ND (1643-44) AU58 NGC, York mint, type 5, lion mm, S-2867, North-2313. A deeply toned example of this provincial mint 1/2 Crown struck during the period of the English Civil War, this specimen features the fine craftsmanship of the York mint and displays an abbreviated form of the original Latin name for the city, Eboracum. A sharp strike in all but a few of the central points on the obverse and reverse makes this example a truly desirable piece.
