William IV gold Sovereign 1831 MS61 NGC, Royal mint, KM717, S-3829. First bust, "W.W." incuse. Noted as the first year of this short-lived series, as well as the date with the smallest mintage, this handsome Mint-State selection is quite enchanting. The design motifs are fully rendered and silky in appearance while the surrounding fields shimmer with light reflectivity. Faint handling abrasions--mostly on the obverse--are commensurate with the grade while the reverse is decidedly choice for the designation.
