William IV gold Sovereign 1831 MS61 NGC, Royal mint, KM717, S-3829. First bust, "W.W." incuse. Noted as the first year of this short-lived series, as well as the date with the smallest mintage, this handsome Mint-State selection is quite enchanting. The design motifs are fully rendered and silky in appearance while the surrounding fields shimmer with light reflectivity. Faint handling abrasions--mostly on the obverse--are commensurate with the grade while the reverse is decidedly choice for the designation. Typically encountered in Proof, this uncirculated specimen absolutely captivates the eye and is wholly deserving of much attention.
