Henri Christophe copper Pattern Centime 1807 AU55 Brown NGC, Royal mint, KM-Pn1. Sharply struck, with glossy brown surfaces and only the slightest hint of rubbing on the high points. A quite attractive example of this very rare pattern depicting Henri Christophe in full military uniform. Commissioned in England per Lissade's recent research, as were the patterns of finer style dated 1808, thus probably produced at the Birmingham mint. The obverse legend UNE CENTIEME (de Gourde) or ONE HUNDREDTH (of a Gourde) is an unusual alternative spelling of the more common UN CENTIME instead of an error as often stated.
