Republic 5 Centavos 1902 MS64 PCGS, KM48. A rare date in any grade (around 20 thought to exist) and downright extremely rare in the present form, with the surfaces displaying full brilliance and no marks. Upon close inspection, typical die clashing is noted. The Dana Roberts specimen, graded AU55 by NGC, and cataloged as "the nicest we recall", brought $690 in our April 2011 CICF auction. As quite possibly the finest example extant (it's the only MS graded example at PCGS or NGC), only the fall of the auctioneer's gavel will determine what the value of this exceptional piece is.
Estimate: 800-1200 USD
