British India. Victoria Original Proof 1/2 Pice 1862-(C) Proof Details (Altered Color) NGC, Calcutta mint, KM466, S&W-4.180; Type B/II. A very rare original proof denomination, this being on the second we have offered, with the other example being contained in a partial set we sold in 2015, that example being struck from a different reverse that show the peripheral vines circling in an anti-clockwise pattern. This piece, while somewhat unnaturally colored, remains quite attractive, with surfaces that are nothing short of Gem quality. As such, a real opportunity for the dedicated collector of Victoria.
