British India. George V Original Proof 1/4 Rupee 1911-(C) PR64 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM517. An exquisite offering with all the hallmarks of a proof coin on full display. Beginning with the squared-off, towering rims which act as a halo, circling each side; followed by fields that are superior in their glossy, mark-free appearance; and finally to the main event--the design motifs--which are fantastically illustrative and incredibly bold. Additionally, both the obverse and reverse are drenched in stunning shades of lilac iridescence, setting the elements ablaze in glorious, colorful light.
