Muhammad Reza Pahlavi Shah gold 5 Pahlavi 1358 (1979) MS65 NGC, KM1202. The better date from this short-lived series that features the portrait of the Shah and the emblematic prowling lion design on the reverse. Spectacular in visual appeal as well as technical quality, this large specimen has seemingly evaded the pitfalls of handling, as its fields are noticeably fresh, and the raised elements are particularly choice for the type--even the lion's features markedly bold. Complete with glowing mint luster and attractive honey-tinged surfaces, choice as such. From the Richard Woit Collection
