Modena. Ercole (Hercules) III d'Este 3 Scudi (Tallero) 1782 MS62 NGC, KM-C19.1, Dav-1393. Light cabinet tone, with a hint of underlying luster peeking through. The Millennia specimen which we offered in January 2015 (realizing a hammer of $3,400) was an NGC MS61, and this piece exceeds its majesty and strike. A scarce one-year type coin, especially as attractive as this example.
