Queen Ranavalo Manjaka III silver Pattern Proof Dollar 1895 PR62 PCGS, KM-XM3, Dav-517. A nice example of this famous private pattern struck by Dr. Reginald Huth in London, with slightly mottled magenta patina and contact marks on the Queen's face. Davenport listed this coin as 5 Francs and gives the original mintage as 25, as does the KM catalog, "UNUSUAL WORLD COINS." A classic example of the colonial coins being considered during this era for Africa.
Estimate: 3000-3500 USD
