Philip V gold Cob 8 Escudos ND (1714) Mo-J UNC - Removed from Bezel, Mexico City mint, KM57.3, Calico-107. Date on Reverse variety. Four marks at the edges are evidence of removal from a pronged bezel, but the central detail remains strong with a bold mintmark, assayer, denomination and cross on the reverse. As such, entirely suitable as an example of this highly-sought type. Certainly an ex. 1715 Plate Fleet coin.
