Charles III Nueva Cantabria silver Proclamation Medal ND (1761) MS61 NGC, Medina-96, Betts-484, Gr-K-19. Same obverse die as the Proclamation medal of Charles III dated 1761 for Guanajuato (Grove-K-28). Lightly toned Mint State with partial luster and faint wispy handling evidence in the fields defining the designation. Very rare less than five confirmed examples by the cataloguer, superior to the ex. Lavin example plated in Grove and most desirable in this handsome preservation, the XF ex. Adams specimen being the only offering noted by the cataloger in recent years (Stack's Bowers and Ponterio 1/2015, lot 1023 for $1,600).
Estimate: 1500-2000 USD
