Republic 8 Reales 1837 Ca-AM VF Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, Chihuahua mint, KM377.2, DP-Ca08. Moderate wispy hairlines, mostly visible on the eagle side, define the grade yet a most acceptable example of this very rare date, entirely comparable with the DP plate coin (that example has a slightly more complete strike in the centers but weaker outside legends) and thus clearly above average for this extremely crude issue, about which DP commented: "Generally, this coin comes simply awful". Not a beautiful coin, yet vastly desirable to the connoisseur of this series.From the FoxLair Collection
