Republic 8 Reales 1857 Pi-PS/MC AU Details (Scratches) NGC, San Luis Potosi mint, KM377.12, DP-Pi37 ("Extremely rare"). The overassayer variety PS/MC although not identified as such on the insert. Lustrous and well preserved with scant high-point wear, per the grade and scratches around 3 o'clock on the obverse where light incrustation was apparently removed. An obviously very rare overassayer variety, this being among the finer of the few examples verified by the cataloguer despite the noted shortcomings.From the FoxLair Collection
