Republic gold 8 Escudos 1826 LM-JM MS61 NGC, Lima mint, KM148.1, Onza-2088. Lightly toned Mint State with sharply defined features, strong mint luster and the expected mild surface scuffing marks at this level. Some planchet flaws are noted, including a cut mark near 12 o'clock on the obverse, yet a most attractive coin for the issue, very rare in this technical designation and currently the single Mint State example of this early type certified at either NGC or PCGS.
