Great Principality of Kiev. Vladimir I, The Great, (980-1015) Srebrennik, Intermediate type between Types II and III. Similar to Type II, but no dots around Vladimir's head and the throne does not have a back as does type III. Fragment broken from bottom (most of the early Srebrenniks have only partial flans), with some obverse incrustation, but there appears to be no wear on this piece. Obv. Vladimir seated, holding cross in right hand. Rev. Tamgha. A Unique variety.
