Saudi Arabia
Abd al-Aziz bin Sa'ud gold 4 Pounds ND (1945-46) AU58 NGC, Philadelphia mint, KM34. A nearly uncirculated example of this popular issue that was struck at the Philadelphia mint for the express purpose of paying the Saudi government for oil, with sublime, harvest-gold tone and a rather bold obverse motif for the designation. A few heavier marks in the broad, surrounding registers ultimately define the grade, but the overall appeal of this piece remains strong.
