Republic gold "Krugerrand Anniversary Edition" Five-piece Set 2001, South African mint, unlisted in KM and Hern, commemorating the 20 Anniversary of the death of the famous coin designer, Coert Steynberg, the originator of the "Springbok" design, and the 40th Anniversary of the Rand. all of the coins are Superb cameo proofs in the original wooden case, with COA #236. The set consists of four Krugerrand pieces, 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 ounce, and a gold medal of the same fineness, weighing 8.483g (1/4 oz AGW). The medal features a stylized Springbok on the obverseand on the reverse, a small Springbok with "40th ANNIVERSARY OF THE RAND" and the SA mint mark below. Mintage of only 400 sets. AGW 2.10 oz.
