Cartagena. Charles IV Pair of silver Proclamation Medals 1789, Herrera 24 & 25. Fonr-7364. 1 & 2 Reales sized city-issued medals proclaiming the allegiance to the new king, Charles IV. City arms under a crown on the obverse. Reverse has a six line inscription. Previous attributions have suggested Costa Rican and Mexican origins, but we believe these to have been produced in Spain.
