Regarded as one of the scarcest of the cantonal Talers, this immense offering delights the eye with graphite coloration that drips from the devices and all-over gunmetal tone that glistens due to an impressive amount of mint bloom that resides beneath the patina. The design features are expertly-struck, with highpoint definition easily identifiable and the image of the rampant bear is most pleasing to the eye. Notable as a one-year type with a scant mintage of just 1,850 pieces, this conditionally-rare specimen currently holds the title for the finest-graded example by NGC.
